I decided to start Invisalign® treatment in order to get the perfect smile. Prior, my
teeth had gaps and not a perfectly aligned bite. As I go through the
treatment and look back at old pictures, I see the changes that occur
within each tray. Invisalign treatment has affected my life for the better, especially
with my confidence in the simplest situations such as smiling for pictures
or the more professional meetings and interviews.
What is Invisalign SmartTrack?
Invisalign aligner is made from a patented thermoplastic material called
SmartTrack® created exclusively for Invisalign treatment. The process of
straightening your teeth differs for each individual depending on how
much needs to be changed.
What to Expect When You First Get Invisalign Treatment?
It took a few days to get used to having something in your mouth, the
first day was a bit tough because of the addition of attachments however
I was able to adjust to it quickly. The duration of each tray can last from 7
days to 2 weeks. At first, I would wear the trays for 2 weeks due to major
shifts however I currently wear them for 10 days. Pain usually only occurs
the first day or two of wearing a new tray, after that you get used to it
and the tray loosens up a bit.
I personally do not eat with my Invisalign trays since it is not
recommended. Gum is also not recommended since it is sticky and will
stick to the tray. I have never tried it but heard many incidents of that
happening. But as long as the trays are off there are no restrictions on
food and drinks; with them on I usually just drink water.
Almost everything is possible with Invisalign aligners other than the choice you
make regarding eating with them. I clean my Invisalign tray nearly every
day with a toothbrush and toothpaste to make sure they are clean.
Is Invisalign Treatment Worth The Money?
In my opinion, Invisalign treatment is definitely better than traditional braces. There
are many adults that may wish to achieve the perfect smile however may
be embarrassed to walk around with braces, Invisalign treatment is an amazing alternative. Invisalign treatment is not only useful for adults but anyone that is willing to align their teeth, no marks are left from the attachments and you can properly brush your teeth without worrying about your teeth yellowing.
